Playground at Port Solent

Something I totally wasn’t expecting, which I stumbled across (probably quite literally given the gale force winds) at Port Solent a few weeks back, was a new, completely amazing kids playground. I’m not just talking a couple of swings and a crappy old slide into a mud-puddle; this thing combines giant ships, grassy mounds, sand pits, bridges and (the current obsession) tunnels. There were even activities going on at the entrance to design your own little lighthouse (for a small fee) and other crafty bits.

(Please note that Weasel insisted on wearing this winter hat in June; we’re not completely crazy parents!)

It’s nice to have something this free next to restaurants and cafes to go burn off some serious energy. This would honestly sway my decision of where to pop for a Sunday lunch and I only wish there were more like it!
