Wanting some fresh sea air and a little walk, we decided to head down to Port Solent near Portsmouth for the afternoon. Whilst the walk was cut very short by rain, we did get to check out Dean’s Diner right on the marina front. With views of boats, it would have been great to sit outside on the terrace – English summer is not my friend. We did have a brief 5 minute attempt at it though.
Menus- this is definitely of the hot dog or hamburger with fries variety, but hey, for once it is the theme. As Weasel only decided to eat the mini hot dog and refused the thick-as milkshakes (mine was banana and oreos, a total meal on its own), we were left with an annoyingly large bowl of chips and no room at all to finish them. The onion ring tower was fab, but avoid the mind-blowing hot sauce unless you’re feeling particularly brave.
Highchairs and push chair space? This place is full of kids, and has a lot less booths than your average diner, making pram parking and high chairs much easier.
Changing – very clean separate unisex changing room
Verdict: good service, plenty of kids, a jukebox, food your kid would hopefully love (I’ll presume ours is a little weird not touching her fries and milkshake!) and good for walks to look at boats, and not to far from Porchester Castle if you wanted some culturing. This place is awesome.
